Cass City Gymnastics
Thumb Tumblers is a way to teach children the art of gymnastics and to help build character.
Character builds self- confidence, discipline, dedication, perseverance, as well as respect for others.
These qualities will instill the belief within themselves that they can achieve the impossible. Within
this program is a team for certain individuals that compete competitively for a High School feeder
program called Michigan Recreational Gymnastics League (MRGL). Currently, there are fifteen girls
on my competitive team, ages seven to thirteen. MRGL is designed to be for kids in eighth grade
or younger. Certain skills on each event; Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor, are necessary for an invita-
tion to be a part of Team. We practice three days a week for two hours each session. At practice we
work on their strength, skills, technique, and confidence. We are finishing our second season with
the majority of these girls and I am amazed at how far they have advanced their abilities. It is truly
a blessing to have these kids represent Thumb Tumblers in a positive way. Each member has their
own unique personality and love for gymnastics and have learned that hard work, dedication and
confidence in oneself is what it takes to succeed in the sport of Gymnastics.
