My journey as a wrestler began back when I was in grade school. Back then I did it for
fun, but with time, it eventually became my way of life with everything revolving around it. My career as a wres-
tler can be defined as nothing short of spectacular. I have accomplished many things in my career so far. In a
sport where 100 wins defines an excellent high school career, I had over 150. As a graduated senior, I finished
my high school career with a record of 154-24 (for the school seasons) with over 2/3rd’s of a season being missed
due to transferring high schools during my junior year. With those wins I have notched victories over many all-
state wrestlers and state champions. Along with this I was a 4x MHSAA state qualifier, 3x MHSAA all-
state wrestler, and 4 year varsity letter winner.

The real highlights of my career came on the national scene. When it came to wrestling, the school season
couldn’t compare to what I accomplished while wrestling nationally. To most this would be considered their off
season, but to me, this was when things were just getting started. During the summers I wrestled for the Michigan
Gold Pitbulls. We have traveled and competed (annually) in Virginia Beach, Va. for the NHSCA National
Duals, and Orlando, Fl. for the AAU Scholastic High School National Duals (Disney Duals) at ESPN
Wide World of Sports. Other places I have competed in were Boston, Ma. Kansas City, MO. Long Beach,
NJ. Dayton, OH. Columbus, OH. and many national tournaments here in Michigan. Not only did I compete
well and win some of these national tournaments, but I also won tournament MVP at multiple national events.
At the Disney Duals, which is considered one of the toughest tournaments in the country, I left with All-Ameri-
can status, with wins over nationally ranked opponents.

In my career I was fortunate enough to have competed at the international level as well. I was selected to
represent the United States in a Freestyle wrestling tournament in Brisbane, Australia. This opened some doors
for me during training because I was then invited to practice at Michigan State University in order to be ready
for this competition. At that point I was still undecided as to where I wanted to attend college so I saw this as
an opportunity to impress the coaches over at MSU. Later I found out this wasn’t where I wanted to be. At the
tournament in the land down under, not only did I compete exceptionally, but I won the tournament with my op-
ponents never making it past the first period. Along with this, I was voted tournament most valuable wrestler and
was presented an award for it.

With all of that, my biggest accomplishment came when I became part of the wrestling team at Arizona
State University. Everything I have worked for and dreamed of came to fruition. To many this is a huge accom-
plishment, but to me this is only a step towards my ultimate goal of becoming an NCAA National Champion. I
will be attending ASU this fall , with a plan to major in finance. As for wrestling I plan to compete at 125lbs.
For now, I will keep doing what I have always done; dream, visualize, plan, and attack. Go Sun Devils!
