Frankenmuth Golf
The Frankenmuth varsity girls’ golf team has an eight-stroke lead over Freeland

through three Tri-Valley Conference Jamborees this season. The Lady Eagles won

first Jamboree hosted by Standish-Sterling at Pine River Golf Course with a score of

190 strokes, were second at the second Jamboree hosted by Ithaca at The Fields Golf

Course with 191 strokes and won the third league outing at Bay County Golf Course,

hosted by Essexville-Garber, registering 194 strokes.

The St. Louis Jamboree at Hidden Oaks Golf Course September 11 was postponed

due to lightning. It will be made up as part of a “doubleheader” September 25, with

the eight TVC schools traveling to Hidden Oaks first for nine holes and then heading to

Alma for the second nine holes.

Frankenmuth will host its Jamboree on September 18 at The Fortress Golf Course

and wrap up regular-season conference action with a trip to Twin Oaks Golf Course on

October 2, hosted by Freeland.

Junior Ella Smith paces ‘Muth and currently is the top league golfer with 131

strokes through three matches., leading Freeland’s Lydia Back by four strokes.

Frankenmuth will compete in the 11-school MHSAA Division 4 Regional No. 20

hosted by Shepherd at Maple Creek Golf Course on Thursday, October 10. The MHSAA

Division 4 State Finals will be contested Friday and Saturday, October 18-19, at Battle

Creek’s Bedford Valley Golf Course.  By: Scott Wenzel
