ANN ARBOR - The Lady Knights Christ the King Lutheran School Lady Knights Volleyball Team
won the Tri-County Lutheran League (TCLL) Tournament, beating Immanuel-Bay City in the first
round, St. Lorenz-Frankenmuth in the second round and St. Michael’s-Richville to win the Cham-
pionship. The TCLL consists of 16 Lutheran schools across six counties in the Mid-Michigan
area. The league provides friendly interscholastic competition between neighboring Lutheran
schools.
The Lady Knights were one of only 12 teams chosen in the state of Michigan for the first-
ever Michigan District State Volleyball Tournament, hosted Nov. 2-3 on the Concordia-Ann Arbor
campus.
The first day of state tourney pool play saw the Lady Knights finishing 3-3, beating St. John-
Rochester, splitting with Bethlehem-Saginaw and losing to Trinity-Clinton Twp.
The Lady Knights entered Sunday bracket play as the 6th seed.
In a long, hard-fought battle, the Lady Knights were victorious beating 3rd-seeded St. Mi-
chael’s-Richville, advancing to play 2nd-seeded St. Paul-Ann Arbor.
The Lady Knights fought hard but came up short in the third set against St. Paul and found
themselves in the 3rd and 4th place bracket.
The Lady Knights then faced 1st-seeded Trinity-Rochester. The Lady Knights played three
more sets, leaving it all on the floor. Finishing with a 15-13 victory, Christ the King brought
home the third-place trophy.
In addition, Jenna Gremel and Brittney Sting were chosen as All Conference Team Members.
The Lady Knights finish the season 20-3-1 overall.
