Caro Tigers Baseball

What an amazing year for the Caro Tiger Baseball!
We had a regular season record of 10 wins and 21 losses, but ended the year with a
15-22 mark. This record does not tell the true story behind this team, or their true tal-
ent. Throughout the year you could see each individual player begin to form a bond/re-
lationship with each other. They not only began believing in their teammates, but they
started to believe in themselves and what they could bring to the team. It was truly
amazing the way this transformation took place as the season progressed.
After taking the 1st game at Districts you could see this team was firing on all cyl-
inders and would then go on to win the District title for the first time in 19 years.
The Tigers now entered into the second round of post season play, Regional’s. The
team had to dig deep and they started talking about leaving it all on the field and not
having any regrets. Again, this team stepped up for the occasion, winning its first ever
Regional title in Caro Baseball History.
These young men were not done playing baseball as they won another tough game
during the Quarterfinal matchup. This win earned the team a trip to MSU to play for
the Division III State Semi-final game. The way the team was playing, they had truly
        earned that opportunity.
There were only four teams remaining in Division III. The players were flying high
and wanted a shot at the Championship. Unfortunately, it was not to be. They fell short
ending the season in the semi-finals to the eventual Division III State Champions. If
anything can be said, each player did leave it all on the field and in the end, had no
regrets. The 2017 Caro Tiger Varsity Baseball team forever carved a spot in the school’s
        baseball history.
This year’s team consisted of 7 Seniors and 5 Juniors who would later be joined by 4
freshmen for post season play. Seniors were: Mason Campbell, Nolan Hornbacher, Kyle
Fetting, Jacob Topham, Deven Hodder, Conner Langenberg, and Dillion Wilson. Juniors
were: Seth Chapelo, Carson Moan, Steven Strachan, Dylan Brown and Grant Goodchild.
Freshmen were: Miles Campbell, Tyler Foster, Logan Middaugh and Syrus Strachan.

                                                    Congratulations on an AMAZING Year!!
