USA Varsity Volleyball

Going into the last week of volleyball USA has so far comprised a 42-4-4 overall record and a
12-0 league record. Our first competition saw us in the Brown City round robin where we took first
place, the following week we played in the 6 team Cros-Lex kick off. In this tournament we would
finish 2nd losing to Grand Blanc in the championship game. League play would start the following
week and up first would be our rival Reese, we would actually go through league play with a perfect
12-0 record. The USA Invite and Caro Invite would be our mid season tournaments and we finished
1st place at both tournaments. The Patriots would have 2 more tournaments to compete in and
traveled down to Williamston and Fowlerville. USA lost to Corunna in the semi final game at the
Williamston tournament and would take 1st place at the Fowlerville invite to finish out their season
strong. USA drew a bye for the first round of Districts and would play Cass City in the semi-final
round after taking out the Red Hawks USA would take on Harbor Beach for the District Champion-
ship, USA would win the District for an 8th year in a row. In Regional play USA would go up against
Millington first, winning in 3 sets would put them in the Regional Championship game against their
GTW rival Reese. USA would win the Regional moving them on to play Brown City in the Quarter-
final game. USA will lose 2 seniors this year Rylee Zimmer and Nichole Schember both have
pivotal roles on this USA team. Even with the loss of Zimmer and Schember USA will still have a
very strong core comming back Allyson Kemp(Junior), Grace Williamson(Sophmore) Brynn Polega
(Sophmore), Maci Montgomery (Sophmore) and Megan Gross (Freshman).
