This year the number of girls is lower but the caliber is higher since I inherited 3 solid Freshmen this year
(Olivia Walker, Lexie Johnson and Faith MacDonald) to build them for the next four (4) years. Our goal keeper is
coming back as a junior and has been awarded the member of all team conference team last year. The sopho-
more Katie Scharrer, who was the top goal scorer of the Caro team and received an honorable mention at all
conference, will be the player to watch since she gained experience and confidence last year. Defenders Junior
Lydia Chapelo (Sweeper) and Senior Marisol Reyes (Stopper) will take care of the central defense to make sure
Talena is well protected from shots, breakaways and dangerous plays close to the box. Senior and right forward
player Ellie Fisch will use her combined skills and speed to feed the forward crew for potential goals. She will
supported by newly arrived senior Olivia Montgomery who will be playing as a right defender. She can also be
used a great right defender if needed. Olivia Walker and Abigayle Spencer will control the midfield and minimize
those breakaways from the opponents. Alyssa Smith and Deziree Hughes will support the team by covering the
left midfield area assisting both left defender Faith and left winger Lexie. Assistant coach Teegan Goss, who
graduated last year from this team, will help me build this team to succeed all along the season.
